Image
Assalamualaikum :D I always craved for Malaysian food during my stays in Ankara but I knew it was impossible so any rice meals would be a better option. I found one at Bizim Lokanta, a small restaurant located near my new hostel in Kizilay. Interesting enough that it became m y most frequently visited restaurant in Turkey so I had a special memory with it! There was many other menu selection. All the meals were with reasonable prices. The alleyway in front of the restaurant. The grilled chickens which attracted me to come here! Grilled chicken with rice (7.50TL) The portion of the chicken and rice was very comparable! This is because it was uncommon for Turks to eat rice. Fyi the rice was not too sticky compared than that at Oktay Lokantasi . I knew that this meal was too plain so I requested some ketchup and the staffs there cooly bought one from the grocery shop next door. Haha! Salad which was included in the meal.  There was also...

Assalamualaikum :D Baklava is a traditional Middle East/Turkish sweet pastry consists of layers of phyllo filled with nuts and is sweetened with sugar or syrup. Even though it has a very sweet taste, it  is one of the Turks favourite desserts other than the lokum (delights) since the Ottoman Empire. Baklavas are usually been served for both formal occasions and non-formal occasions.  Baklavaci Hacibaba (pronounced as Hajibaba) is one of the legacy bakery that makes baklava for many years, to be exact since 1949. The bakery is well known by the locals and foreigners who also claimed that the baklava there is the best in town. Besides bakery, Hacibaba also has its own chains of restaurants. I went to the bakery which is situated near Kizilay. The bakery was simply decorated yet elegant.  Choose which type of baklava and how many kg you want. The worker will package them nicely in a box for you. Besides buying baklava for takeaways, there was also an eating ar...
